Tickets Now Available for the First Annual West Alabama Food and Wine Festival
TUSCALOOSA, Ala., February 19, 2013—The first annual West Alabama Food and Wine Festival will highlight local food and businesses while creating a new tradition for the West Alabama community. The event is a great opportunity to mix, mingle and meander as you sample Tuscaloosa’s finest cuisine and spirits, all while supporting a great cause.
“We are excited to offer a fun and unique event that showcases the best food and drinks in West Alabama,” said Peter Schmidt, Hotel Capstone director of food and beverage, who spearheaded the development of the festival. “Where else in Tuscaloosa can you sample specialties from 10 restaurants, taste local beer, and try new wines or liquors in one evening?”
The festival will be held at Hotel Capstone on Saturday, March 30,from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. A limited number of tickets are now available from the Alabama Book Store, the American Red Cross West Alabama Chapter, Hotel Capstone and Spirits Wine Cellar at the Shops of Lake Tuscaloosa. Tickets are $55 each or $100 per couple and must be purchased in advance. Admission includes a souvenir 2013 wine glass. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross West Alabama Chapter’s disaster relief services.
Participating restaurants include: The Cypress Inn, DePalma’s Italian Cafe, Evangeline’s, The Globe, Hotel Capstone, Kozy’s Restaurant, Mary’s Cakes and Pastries, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, The Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar, and Wintzell’s Oyster House. Spirits Wine Cellar, Grassroots Wine and International Wines are offering wine pairings. The festival also features a martini bar provided by Southern Wine and Spirits and beer provided by Druid City Brewing Company.
